If you are looking to learn more about wedding photography and how to grow your business….look no more! I had the immense privilege of attending Christy Tyler‘s advanced photography workshop this past weekend! First, I want to say that I truly believe that workshops are essential for photographers. It’s so incredibly easy to get stuck in a rut or not really know what steps to take to move to the next level. That being said, the amount of information that I received at Christy’s workshop was invaluable!

So many people told me that Christy is such an open book and they were totally right! Day 1 was filled with learning about the business of photography. We covered everything from how to file your taxes, building your brand, to workflow. I think my brain hurt a little bit from all the stuff that I was learning on Saturday!! haha! Christy opened up her home to us and answered each and every question we had!!

Day 2 took place at Lacuna Artist Lofts in Chicago. (side note…I’m in love with this place and am DYING to shoot a wedding here!!) We covered more on lighting and off camera flash! Christy did some off camera flash and posing demonstrations with us and then gave us all a chance to practice ourselves.

I’ve been to other workshops before….Christy’s is one of the best. I met so many great photographers that day too and am SO excited to see how our businesses grow this year!
