Maura and Joe are one of the most fun couples I’ve had the pleasure of  working with! I met these two love birds a few months ago when we sat at Starbuck’s and they openly shared with me all the fun details of their wedding coming up this November. You see, Maura and Joe are both Irish and LOVE celebrating their heritage. In fact, their wedding is going to be held in the beautiful Irish American Heritage Center on Knox Avenue in Chicago. As we were chatting through some ideas for their engagement session, Maura suggested maybe doing a holiday themed engagement photo session.  St. Patrick’s day was just around the corner and was just perfect…so of course we had to head back to the Heritage Center to get some pictures in front of those gorgeous green doors.

If you live in Chicago you know just how incredibly unpredictable the whether can be. I never imagined we would have snow for our March shoot but it all worked out just perfectly. I just love all of the green that Maura incorporated into the session too.

Of course since it was cold, we had to warm up inside. The Irish American Heritage Center used to actually be an old high school so it has a lot of character. We headed to the library to capture a few shots there.

These two are so easy going and so comfortable together.

We made one last stop to Chief O’Neill’s Pub where Maura and Joe had a glass of Harp beer. Maura is actually having her bridal shower here too! There is also a pretty sweet garden area that I’m sure just looks gorgeous in the spring and summer.
