A few weekends ago I had the special honor of shooting Paul and Cassandra’s engagement shoot in downtown Chicago.  This shoot was extra special you see, because Paul is Dave’s cousin!!  Both Dave and I were so excited to do this shoot so we packed up our gear and Mateo and headed for Chicago.  We picked up Paul and Cassandra and had them squish in the back seat on each side of Mateo’s car seat.  Our precious 5 month old took one look at these “strangers” and started wailing.  If you’ve had the pleasure of hearing our little guy cry…(basically if you’re around long enough or were on last night’s flight home…haha) you know that he has a very shrill high pitched cry.  I thought to myself, I hope that this is no indication of how the photo shoot will go.  I was a little nervous…but 15 minutes later as we placed Mateo in his stroller, he finally stopped crying.

With that behind us, we started our photo shoot near Buckingham fountain.  The lighting was gorgeous all evening!  It was a photographer’s dream.  Paul and Cassandra brought several different outfit changes, all of which I LOVED.  It made the pictures so much more interesting.  These first few shots are extra special because they also happen to capture the building Paul currently works at! (the big red one)

Now, we’ve known Paul and Cassandra for some time now….and the wonderful thing about them is that they not only truly love each other, but they LIKE each other and even more…they have a ton of FUN together!!

I LOVE shooting in downtown Chicago…there is so much to photograph and I love the challenge of capturing the city and the couples in a different way.  This time we headed by the Shedd Aquarium to get a wonderful view of the city skyline!

Paul and Cassandra, we are SO excited for you guys and this new journey you are about to embark on!  I love how comfortable you are with each other and how easily you can each feel free to be yourselves with each other.
