Carri and Craig’s Montrose Harbor Nature Boardwalk Engagement Session was such a wonderful break to the winter blues.  In fact we had some pretty great weather that day!

I loved shooting this session with Carri and Craig.  They are such an easy going couple and we hit it off from our very first meeting!  Carri actually works with my Mother-in-law and Craig works with Second City and does improv theatre!  At our first meeting they each happened to have both of their mother’s present which was a lot of fun because I got to hear from both of their mothers.

Carri and Craig chose to have part of their engagement session at Montrose Harbor.  This place just happened to be a place they often visited together and where Craig proposed.  When Craig proposed he had gotten up early to scope out the area and was excited it was pretty clear at the harbor that day.  He went back to try and get Carri but she was preoccupied with a task at home and didn’t want to leave the apartment.  He was finally able to convince her to escape and they went on their walk.  There were more people at the harbor later that day but fortunately, their spot was all clear and Craig was able to get down on one knee and propose without an audience!  I think this story only makes this Montrose Harbor Nature Boardwalk Engagement session even sweeter because it means every time they look at these pictures they will remember the moment Craig proposed.

After our session at Montrose Harbor, we headed off to the Lincoln Park Zoo Nature Boardwalk where we took the iconic picture under the honeycomb structure.  The Nature Boardwalk was pleasantly empty this day and we were able to walk around and capture some shots without a ton of people in the background.  We truly had a blast this day!
