There’s absolutely nothing more that I love than photographing two people in love. I especially love anniversary sessions because they are reminders that your love for each other hasn’t ended just because the wedding day is long over. I was thrilled to shoot this Evanston Lighthouse Beach Anniversary Session for my good friends Greg and Ashley. They celebrated their 10th anniversary last winter and since they got married over the winter, they wanted to wait until summer to get some of those beautiful outdoor shots that you can’t always get with a winter wedding. We started off the session with a few family shots because after 10 years these two have four beautiful kids and of course we had to document that!!

Anniversary sessions are a ton of fun because they can be whatever you want. Many brides choose to get back into their wedding dress while others choose to pick out another stunning dress to wear. Regardless of what you choose just remember to pick something that you feel beautiful and confident in! To add to this already beautiful Evanston Lighthouse Beach anniversary session, Ashley had a small bouquet and a boutonniere made for them. She also picked up a small cake for them to share. I loved everything about the little details that she brought, they were simple, elegant and another reminder of what they were celebrating this day. Ashley was also super brave and got in the water with her dress!

I’ve known Ashley for several years now. We had one of those small world connections because I met her through a mutual best friend of ours in college but what I didn’t know was that Greg (her finance at the time) was actually my best friend from home’s cousin! Greg also happened to be in the same group of friends with my husband who I didn’t meet until senior year of college. Anyway, all that to say that what I love most about Ashley is her authenticity.
